Dr. Zamora Zapata is responsible for identifying and pursuing growth opportunities for NordiaSoft, where he also manages client accounts and coordinates marketing and sales strategies.
Dr. Zamora Zapata obtained a Bachelors degree in Software Engineering in 1992 from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (Tec de Monterrey) in México. After excelling as software analyst, designer and programmer, he decided to learn more about the business behind software and enrolled in a Masters in Business Administration program for which he obtained his MBA degree in 1997 also from the Tec de Monterrey in México. With substantial business experience but still passionate about software, he returned to his roots and pursued a Doctorate in Computer Science where he worked on Compliance Verification of Software Models using the Software Communications Architecture (SCA) in his research. Dr. Zamora Zapata received his Ph.D. degree in 2005 from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada.
Prior to co-founding NordiaSoft, he worked for over 12 years with the SCA, with the last 7 years as a Research Scientist at the Communications Research Centre Canada (CRC), where he co-authored papers on Software Defined Radios (SDR) and the SCA. Dr. Zamora Zapata was a key member of CRC’s Advanced Radio Systems group which developed the SCARI Software Suite for SCA based SDR development. At CRC he was also instrumental in CRC’s SCA knowledge transfer program, where he trained hundreds of engineers and technical managers from both the public and the private sector worldwide. Before moving to Canada in 1999, previous professional experience include leading the Customer Care 120 staff department for México’s second largest city’s Water Management and Supply organization with 800,000 customer accounts. Prior to that, Dr. Zamora Zapata also held positions at the second largest financial institution in México where he was a Manager for Electronic Banking accounts, as well as Marketing and Customer Care Manager for 28 local branches.
