Washington Convention Center, Washington DC, USA (November 28 – 30, 2017)
Mr. Bélisle will address a crowd of Electronic Warfare (EW) engineers, practitioners and users about the benefits of using Open Architecture standards for the development of complex heterogeneous electronic systems such as found in the EW and other related domains. The presentation will focus mainly on the use of the Software Communications Architecture (SCA) extensively used in military communications systems for the development Software Defined Radios.
The presentation will provide an overview of the SCA, an open and international standard developed for military systems and evolved through the participation of the Wireless Innovation Forum (WInnF), an international organizations of industry, government labs and academia for the development of advanced technologies and standards for wireless systems. The benefits of the SCA standard for the EW community and the latest advancements in the specification that makes it even more suitable to modern processing technologies such as multi-core and system-on-chip (SoC) processors are to be addressed. In addition, the role of the WInnF in the evolution of the technology and how the commercial eco-system created contributes to simplifying the development of software defined systems.
“This is an exciting opportunity to update the Electronic Warfare community about the potential of the SCA as the open architecture to adopt for the development of Electronic Warfare related systems” said Mr. Bélisle.
