NordiaSoft SCA solution chosen for the Software Defined Radio R&D project for the Hawaii Space Flight Laboratory, University of Hawai‘i

GATINEAU, Quebec, June 25, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — NordiaSoft today announced that it was chosen to provide its Software Communications Architecture (SCA) solutions for the software integration of a nano-satellite ground station platform being developed by the Hawaii Space Flight Laboratory of the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. The project uses the NordiaSoft Embedded Components (eCo) Suite for SCAv4.1 development, together with Ettus Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP) E310 transceivers.

‘The SCA specification is a perfect fit for our heterogeneous embedded and distributed platform. We are looking forward to making full use of the advanced features of the NordiaSoft eCo Suite that allows for full control of process collocation as well as its enhanced software portability benefits,’ said Miguel Nunes, deputy director of the Hawaii Space Flight Laboratory.

‘With our expertise in nanosatellite communication, we’ll be able to engage graduate students into using the same SCA technologies that the world has embraced for tactical communication systems,” Nunes said.

The NordiaSoft Embedded Components (eCo) Suite for SCAv4.1 development includes tools to create SCA models, automatically generate all associated source code, monitor and debug SCA systems, and to create HMI software. The NordiaSoft eCo Suite includes an SCA Core Framework and a full list of SCA Devices implementing the Joint Tactical Networking Center (JTNC) and the Wireless Innovation Forum (WInnF) APIs.
